FBR Releases Statement on DHA, Bahria Town, and DHA City Values

I realize that the majority of the country has been waiting on the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to release a statement about the values of DHA, Bahria Town Karachi and DHA City Karachi, but I want to assure you that this hasn’t been taken lightly. We have done our due diligence and are happy to be able to share with you the findings of our investigation as well as how we will be moving forward from here. We also look forward to your input and welcome your questions in the comments section below, as we understand that we have created some controversy with this announcement.

The Federal Board of Revenue has released a statement regarding the values of DHA, Bahria Town, and DHA City


The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has released a statement on the values of the Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Bahria Town Karachi, and DHA City Karachi. The FBR’s statement was based on a report from Pakistan Institute for Development Economics. The report concluded that
-DHA is worth $3 billion
-Bahria Town Karachi is worth $2 billion
-DHA City Karachi is worth $1.5 billion

The statement clarifies the values of the three developments

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has released a statement clarifying the values of three different developments in Karachi. The FBR clarified the values of DHA, Bahria Town Karachi, and DHA City Karachi. The statement was made to help guide investors who may be confused about the true value is for these properties. It was also made to provide a transparent accounting for the citizens of Pakistan.

The statement also provides guidance on how to calculate the values for tax purposes


As per the guidance issued by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) vide its press release dated 18th February 2018, the tax values for residential plots in the following schemes are as under:
